it’s literally been ages since I’ve surfed a good wave. ok, maybe a week and a half. the waves just haven’t been rolling in. A nice mellow storm system is blowing through town and with it was supposed to come a nice sized swell but it was a no show. So I’ll have to put the short board away and take the big bwoy long board up to Sayulita for a little shuffling. Good thing about Sayulita, even when there’s no waves, there’s still waves.
Comments:
the waves aren’t looking so hot, Tim, it’s also very windy. The weekend may change things, but I doubt it. But have no fear, rent a longboard and you should be fine, there’s always some kinda wave happening. I’m not sure how much rentals are, but i know you can get a good price by the day, maybe 20 bucks? have fun, tim, i’ll probably make it up there on sat. or sun. morning.
Thanks for the info. Ed. Maybe with our rental car we can drive around a bit and find some waves close by. I see from your other post the weather isn’t as warm as I thought it was going to be - is the water trunks temperature, or are you wearing a wetsuit still?
No man, the weather is hot. and humid. it’ll be nice when you get here. I think we just went through a small storm system. No need for a wetsuit or rash guard for that matter.
Also, I heard that Chacala was going off, so it may still be when you get here. It turns out that only Chacala and Quimixto got that big swell.
I have been tracking the surf on surfline.com and there are waves somewhere down there. They are saying 3-5 with 6 foot set. We are hanging out at Costa Azul. Maybe see you guys in the water…
Adios.

Hi Ed, I’m headed to Sayulita this Friday-Monday for the long weekend to do some surfing. Can you tell me how the conditions look? Also, how is board rental quality and cost in Sayulita? Thanks!
Your friendly surfrat.
