Bali. an island paradise. ask me, i’d live there in a second. in fact, when i die and am reborn, i’d like to be born in Bali. to say I loved it there, would be a hard understatement. gorgeous people, gorgeous culture, gorgeous environment. We saw the Legong and Barong dances, the Katchek Monkey Chants and listened to Gamelan, visited wood carving shops and sacred springwater palaces, went hiking and played with monkeys, went motorscootering around, talked with the seaweed fishermen and women on Nusa Lembongan, spent days catching up on my ever growing reading list and met tons of interesting and wonderful people along the way.
Our travels in Bali took us to Ubud - the cultural center of Bali, Nusa Lembongan - a surfer’s disneyland, Dreamland Beach - small surfer’s beach on the bukit and Uluwatu - one of the most important breaks in the world (unfortunately there weren’t any waves at all in Bali, ‘cept for a few 2 footers and I enjoyed every one of them). The question isn’t if I’ll go back, the question is when.
I ♥ Bali
We flew into Bali on Monday, Dec 11th ‘06 and flew on to Thailand on Saturday, Dec 23rd ‘06.
