Huge congrats bro. Celebrate your achievements. You're hitting them out of the park lately.

Ed, well posted. I feel the same way only on a much more miniscule level about where I'm from. East Coast, South, North, West Coast... alas I've come to realize my only home is the road with my beautiful girlfriend at my side.

Wish you could come up earlier for my show at Shelter and Surfindian in the coming days.

PS, that Junod looks perfectly out of place in that pic. Such a rad sled you picked up. Keep it real,

We almost made the trip up from Nexpa when it was small, heard it's Puerto's twin. Don't think we would have been doing anything there at size though.

Never heard of this before so thanks for posting.

Here is an idea. Shoot bazillion photos with high FPS on a DSLR, dump into PhotoShop's animation filter to spit out a Quicktime vid and then upload to Thumber. Wait. Couldn't I just create an automated contact sheet in PS that would do the same thing? Probably.

Hey Lisa! thanks for the kind words! yes, everything *is* possible. I can't say there hasn't been some really hard times these past four years (and that the future is always a bit uncertain), but I regret nothing. Best decision I ever made. I think back to the person I was, living in LA and I'm so glad I'm not in that space any more.

I mean besides the usual stuff, I lived in one of the bastions of surf culture and didn't surf. how skew'd is that?!

What a great entry, Ed. I love it!

This blog reminds me... Anything and Everything IS Possible... and when we let go of the idea that we know what is best for ourselves, we simultaneously open the flood gates for abundance to flow in from all directions... in shapes and forms we never imagined.

Indeed. The journey has only just begun!

May every day be an adventure in the glorious sabbatical that is called "Your Life"...

Hope all is swell ;)

it's so depressing. in the 4 years since I've been here the bay has changed so much it's not funny. i have no faith in the zoning board. I have the inside track on several different attempts to change zoning around the bay. It's not even funny how lopsided towards the developers it is.

My friend Ro said something to the effect of: never be in love with a place as all places eventually change. Be in love with a time, you can carry that with you, when you've moved on.

very poetic.

Ed,

I stumbled across this photo from Yann Arthus Bertrand and reminded me of your post about gated housing communities in Vallarta. It's a photo of Infonavit housing in Toluca : http://www.yannarthusbertrand2.org/index.php?option=com_datsogallery&Itemid=27&func=detail&catid=66&id=1548

A colleague of mine recently took part in the "Plan de Desarrollo Urbano" forums (urban development forums to change the zoning of land around the bay) and they are planning of building a further 15,000 houses, similar to the above projects, over the next 5-6 years.

If we think that PV has changed a lot with the recent tourism-housing boom I got the feeling we ain't seen nothing yet!

Cheers,
