Roberto Jamora

Brooklyn artist Roberto Jamora:

I am grappling with subjects of power, psychological barriers, and displacement. In the painting “It Is Going to Happen to You” there is a lone surfer in a sea of paint. He is looking out into the distance with a gesture that could be interpreted as anticipation, disappointment, or fear of death. Deep space is simultaneously enabled and denied because of the nature of painting, which adds to the tension. I make paintings of mythical landscapes that consist of caves, volcanoes, surfers, empty rooms, and other elements to echo inward conflicts of an individual in times of uncertainty.

Nathan Oldfield x Patagonia

Summery Loggery: A Patagonia Short from Nathan Oldfield on Vimeo.

We were pleasantly surprised, recently, to hear that Nathan Oldfield is now an advocate for Patagonia. Here’s the first bit of video from their collaboration, titled “Summery Loggery: A Patagonia Short”, featuring loggers Johnny Gill & Sean Finnelley.

Alex Roulette

Alex Roulette’s photorealistic paintings depict fabricated American landscapes. He places figures into the landscapes to “take advantage of the viewer’s natural ability to extrapolate narratives”. The series is called “Fabricated Realism”.
