Up mauka where we build.
Qpeeps mauka side neighbor Jaime Qureshi builds boards in his backyard in a old container and various tents up (glasses). We regularly chat about board design, waves and other arty things. The board on the rack is something we have been working on for me to test drive on my regular session down the hill.

Jaime on a small one that day on his self made board.

Trading War for Waves

NY Times’ Lens Blog has a great post on spanish war photographer Guillermo Cervera, who photographs surfing on his downtime.
“In between conflicts, I go and photograph surfing, I’ve always been scared by colleagues who are obsessed with war. I did not want to be like that. So I go make photos of something beautiful… If you don’t go into the surf, nothing is going to happen. You’ve got to be like a little fish, and stay calm in the water while there are crazy things going on around you.”
